From March 31 to April 22, Sanna Konola and I will host an OPEN CRAFT WORKSHOP and EXHIBITION at Hirvitalo in Tampere, Finland

SATURDAY 31.03@18.00: CRAFT OF THE CANNIBAL (Jodie Baltazar)

Baltazar’s Knitted CANNIBALS will be on display. You can learn to crochet from a giant ball of yarn. Make yarn out of t-shirts. Make sprouts. And help us fix the Giant Egg Swing!!

SATURDAY 07.04@18.00: APPAREL INTERVENTION (Sanna Konola)

Sanna Konola´s two weeks of Apparel Intervention will begin with a Clothes Swap event with a twist. Bring clothes you are more than ready to give up and an open mind. Seek and you shall find. (Clothes can be brought beforehand to Hirvitalo or on Saturday as you come)

Come any time between 14.00-19.00 to learn how to knit, crochet, dye with plants or make your own forest cannibal! From 17.00-19.00 each day, there will be specific help on the following topics:

• Sun 1.4 Needles & Hooks – make your own needles
• Mon 2.4 Knitting & Crocheting – basics
• Tue 3.4 Dyeing with tree bark
• Wed 4.4 Basic Hand Sewing Stitches
• Thu 5.4 Knitting & Crocheting – advanced techniques
• Fri 6.4 Make a mask / cannibal head

Sat 7.4@14.00                        CRAFT FAIR

At the fair we will display whatever was made during the week. Bring your own homemade things (of any kind) to trade or sell or exhibit.

Depending on the weather, we will be planning a spring garden, go on a foraging expedition, or sponsor other organic or permaculture gardening activities. Check back later for more details.

Tue-Sun 10. – 22.4@14.00-19.00            OPEN CRAFT & CLOTHING WORKSHOP

Come any time between 14.00-19.00 to explore prototypes of participatory clothing and different techniques of manipulating fabric. Intervene, try co-designing and craft meaning into clothing.  (Sanna Konola)
